1 Timothy 6:12-13

As Paul continues his concluding exhortations to Timothy, he reminds him that he must persevere and that he can persevere.

How?

Remember these things

1. Called

“Take hold of eternal life to which you were called…”

The person used by God can persevere because God called you to this life of service.

2. Equipped

“you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

The person used by God can persevere because God has equipped you with all his divine resources.

3. Accountable to God

1 Timothy 6:13

“In the presence of God, who gives life to all,”

We will answer to God for our use of the life he gave to us.

4. Evaluated by Christ

1 Timothy 6:13

“of Christ Jesus, who gave a good confession before Pontius Pilate,”

We will answer to Jesus who persevered through overwhelming trials
