Do You Suffer from Affluenza?

How would you know?

1. Are you working harder but enjoying less?
2. “Luxuries” shrink, but “necessities” grow?
3. Your debt is increasing but your savings are decreasing?
4. Your point of contentment recedes

In Matthew 6:19-24

Jesus teaches about 3 pairs of opposites. Each pair has an earthly manifestation and a heavenly manifestation.

in v. 19-21, He speaks of 2 treasures, one of this earth that is vulnerable, and one of heaven, which is eternally safe

in v. 22-23, He speaks of 2 perspectives, one of this earth which is grounded in envy, and one of heaven which is lifted in gratitude

in v. 24, He speaks of 2 masters, one of the earthly realm (money or “mammon”) and one of the heavenly realm, God himself
