How much money would it take…

for you to feel contented? There is a discontentment gap between “all there is to have” and “what I now have.” The “all there is to have” line keeps moving farther and farther away. Ecclesiastes 5:10 He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.

“Just a little bit more…”

Today’s message from Pastor John Underhill deals with the topic of being content with what we have. There is good news here. We can learn to be content! Even the Apostle Paul said that he had to learn to be content with what he had. (Philippians 4:11-13)

Make contentment your goal, not wealth

  • because you’ll never find security pursuing money–you leave it all behind.
  • because happiness doesn’t come from accumulating more, but desiring less. (Heb. 13:5-6)
  • because the pursuit of wealth will ultimately destroy you. (1 Tim. 6:9-10)

Contentment comes…

from having the priority of godliness, not gain, and the perspective of the eternal, not the temporal.
