Cycles of Lament and Hope

As in life, we see in Psalms 42 and 43 cycles of lament and hope. We all experience times of struggle, of loss, of questioning, of sorrow, maybe even doubt. Where do we turn in such a time? While the answer for a Christian might seem automatic –“we turn to God” — the reality is that we often try to assuage our pain with worldly treatments.
