The “Great Commission” is more than Matthew 28
In this sermon series, called “Commissioned”, Pastor John Underhill examines 4 other places in the Gospels and Acts where Jesus commissions his followers.
Commission #1
We find the first commission, chronologically, in the Gospel of John. “As the Father has sent me, I also send you.” John 20:21
Lifeguards and Christians
We as commissioned Christians, share some characteristics with effective, life-saving lifeguards.
To save a drowning person, a lifeguard
- Has to make contact
- Must take risks
- Must have sufficient authority
- Must have adequate ability
- Must clearly communicate
To hear how these play out in the life of a Christian in the 21st century, we invite you to listen to this message.
