USE AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
The following list includes examples of how your information is used at SHBC. It not intended to be exhaustive, but we believe, best describes the ways your information may be used.

  • Information provided by you is kept within our central online database system, Planning Center Online (PCO). PCO is used by staff, ministry leaders, leadership, and elders at SHBC, and may contain inaccuracies despite our best efforts. SHBC provides a (digital or hard-copy) church directory to members and regular attenders exclusively upon request via PCO using information you provide to us. At the SHBC staff’s discretion, information such as names, birthdays and anniversaries, emails, phone numbers and addresses may be made available in a weekly bulletin publication or other printed publications for communication and community. This information will not be made available online. If you are concerned about the security of Planning Center Online, you can read their Privacy Policy online: planning.center/privacy
  • Information provided by you with the desire to receive regular email communications from SHBC, will be kept within our email service, Mailchimp. Prayer requests (particularly containing personal information) or “news” updates you provide to us may be shared with those individuals within our Mailchimp service, and may be publicly available online for others within the service. You reserve the right to unsubscribe from SHBC emails at any time, or withhold information from potentially being made publicly available online. If you are concerned about the security of Mailchimp, you can read their Privacy Policy online: mailchimp.com/legal/privacy
  • SHBC employs the use of a photo directory service, Instant Church Directory (ICD), to provide church members and attenders with a means of connecting and communicating with one another via a password-protected PDF, printed copy or smartphone app. Information provided by you with the desire to be listed in the ICD service, will be made available exclusively to the individuals listed within the ICD by the SHBC staff. ICD uses names, phone numbers, emails and addresses from PCO except for the addition of a picture (and other information) submitted or authorized by you specifically for this service. If you are concerned about the security of Instant Church Directory, you can read their Privacy Policy online: instantchurchdirectory.com/members/privacypolicy.aspx

However, SHBC may disclose your personal information if required by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence.

Information given to SHBC marked explicitly “confidential” will only be shared with the appropriate church staff, ministry leaders and Board of Elders unless we believe that the personal safety of you or the safety of others is at risk.
