“No earthly good?”

It’s been said, disparagingly, that “those who are heavenly minded are of no earthly good.” But the Bible does not teach this at all. In fact, we become our best, truest selves when we fully embrace our citizenship…our heavenly citizenship (Philippians 3:20).

  • A heaven-ward mindset leads us to count the things of this earth as of no eternal value.
  • A heaven-ward mindset helps us in the midst of our deepest struggles and sorrows.
  • A heaven-ward mindset brings the urgency of the Gospel to the fore in our thinking and actions.

No, dear friends, we are of the most earthly good as we become more and more heavenly minded (Colossians 3:1-4).

A new class just for you

You are invited to a new Sunday morning Bible class on Heaven that is beginning on November 5th at 8:45am in the Fellowship Hall, and is taught by Chet Roshetko. It will take a multi-month look at the spiritual and physical components of the Biblical Heaven. The class will look at the who, what, where, when, why and how of heaven, and will discuss (amongst many other things):  Who gets in? What is it like? When do they get in? Where is it? Why does heaven exist? How do we know? This will be a deep look at what the Bible says about heaven based primarily, but not exclusively, on Randy Alcorn’s in-depth study called “Heaven.”
